Ice creams and a Christmas tree

We took our friends to church in the morning. It's still the Larnaka Community church - we think we'll stay there, now the boys seem so settled. We might visit others at some point in the future, but there's no urgency.

We had lunch, then we took our friends along the sea-front, and to the yogurt ice cream shop that we have been introduced to. We ate our ice creams by the sea, and by the time we'd finished felt distinctly chilly.

There was quite a breeze, and as the afternoon wore on it actually began to feel cold. Not something we'd really expected in Cyprus, but people have told us that the winters can be chilly here. We hope not too cold, as we didn't bring many warm clothes, and only our thin (4.5 tog) duvet.

Before our friends left, to return to Paphos (where they are spending most of their holiday), they gave us some delightful little hand-made Christmas tree decorations. Since today is Advent Sunday, and we had been given a plastic Christmas tree that belonged to someone who had left the island, we decided it was a good opportunity to put the tree up.

Putting up our Christmas tree

We don't usually put our tree up until the end of the school term, but as the boys aren't currently going to school, there isn't an obvious day to choose.  Of course it looks rather bare with just two small decorations, but hopefully we can find some more before Christmas Day.
